Bank of Ireland Offshore Rebrands Guernsey Operation

Bank of Ireland Offshore has announced that the trading name of its Guernsey branch is now Bank of Ireland, replacing its original trading name, Bristol & West International.

Based in the heart of Guernsey’s financial services centre, the branch offers a range of savings products, structured deposits, international payment facilities and foreign exchange services to corporate, intermediary and personal customers, primarily in the Channel Islands and UK. The current operation in Guernsey has 8 staff and has been part of the Bank of Ireland Group for over 10 years.

Commenting on the decision to rebrand, Michael McKay, Chief Operating Officer for Bank of Ireland Offshore, said:

“We know from market research we recently commissioned that Bank of Ireland is viewed as a strong, respected and well established brand in the marketplace and as Bristol & West International has been part of the Bank of Ireland Group for over 10 years, we believe now is the appropriate time to move to a single brand for our offshore operation.

“Before making this strategic decision we also conducted a survey amongst a selection of both corporate and retail customers last year and the feedback received indicated that this change would also be well received by the vast majority of our existing customers.”
